Americable Scheduled Maintenance - (5-6 August 2020)

Dear Americable Customers,

Americable’s service provider will be conducting maintenance work on their fiber which we lease to connect Sasebo and Hario. This maintenance is being done to accommodate road construction along the path. As a result, those Hario customers will experience a loss of Internet and Cable TV service during the maintenance window. Although the maintenance window from the circuit provider is six hours, we expect our circuit to be down for approximately an hour during that time. This maintenance will only impact Internet and Cable TV service in Hario.

Additionally, Americable will be updating our firewalls during the same time frame. This maintenance will require reloading of our equipment a few times as we step up our firmware on the units. This will cause an Internet outage for all locations for a short period of time as the equipment is restarted.

 

Maintenance Time:  Start: 5 August 2020, Wednesday 0000 JST       End:  6 August 2020, Thursday 0600 JST

Affected Customers: All base locations

Maintenance Type: Americable maintenance

 

Hario residents will experience loss of Internet and cable TV service during the maintenance window. All bases will have a brief Internet interruption as the firewalls are reloaded. Please do not adjust settings on your computer equipment or TV during this period. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. If you have any questions about this circuit outage please call 241-2288 and press 2 during the recording.

NOTE: If you experience networking issues after the outage period, please reboot ALL equipment including your router and computer in sequence.

1) Power off all equipment. To power off the modem unplug the modem power supply.

2) Plug in the modem power supply; wait for the modem's 4 green lights come back on.

3) If you have a router, turn it on if not go to 4.

4) Power on computer.

5) Test the connection by going to a web page.
